Career Service

At JACCD Design Institute Africa, our Career Services unit is dedicated to empowering students with lifelong career development opportunities. Our mission is to nurture the creative industry by producing highly skilled and innovative graduates who are prepared to excel and make a lasting impact on the creative landscape in Africa and beyond.

Our journey begins with high school outreach programs, where we guide young minds in identifying potential careers within the creative industry. By helping students align their passions, interests, and talents with their career aspirations, we lay the foundation for them to thrive in a dynamic and ever-evolving industry.

Through tailored career guidance, industry connections, and hands-on support, we ensure our students are well-prepared to navigate the professional world with confidence and creativity.

JACCD iStart

The JACCD iSTART Program is a foundational course designed to help first-semester certificate students succeed academically and professionally. Required for all new students, this program consists of monthly, one-hour sessions over two semesters (Semester 1 and Semester 2) and is facilitated by faculty and staff.

The iSTART curriculum focuses on essential skills like time management, effective study habits, creative problem-solving, teamwork, and personal development. These interactive sessions are designed to support students as they transition into the JACCD community and build a strong foundation for their creative and professional journeys.

More than just a course, the iSTART Program fosters a supportive environment where students gain confidence, discover their strengths, and connect with mentors and peers. At JACCD, we are committed to empowering students to thrive, not only during their studies but also in the fast-evolving creative industry.

JACCD Peer Advising Program (PAP)

The JACCD Peer Advising Program (PAP) is a dynamic mentorship initiative designed to foster meaningful relationships among students, empowering them to support and inspire one another. This program pairs student mentees with experienced student mentors who guide them through academic challenges, career exploration, and personal growth during their time at JACCD.

Through PAP, mentees gain valuable insights into navigating college life, setting life-long goals, and making informed career decisions, particularly within the fashion and creative industries. Mentors, in turn, develop leadership and interpersonal skills as they share their experiences and offer guidance.

This peer-to-peer approach creates a supportive and collaborative environment where students can grow together, build confidence, and form lasting connections. By participating in PAP, students are better equipped to overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and prepare for a successful future in their chosen creative careers.

Scholarships

JACCD Design Institute Africa is committed to making quality creative education accessible to talented students through a range of scholarship opportunities. Our scholarships are available to diploma and degree students and are awarded based on financial need, academic merit, or a combination of both. Eligible students can receive up to 50% of their tuition covered, with assessments conducted annually to determine continued support.

To be considered for institutional scholarships, undergraduate students must complete the scholarship application process before the stated deadline each year. This ensures that deserving students have the opportunity to benefit from financial assistance while focusing on their academic and creative pursuits.

In addition to institutional scholarships, we work closely with external funding organizations to provide students with further financial support options. For more information about these opportunities, students are encouraged to contact the registry office for personalized guidance and assistance.
