Our students are welcome to the JACCD Design Institute Africa, where students are guided
through an exceptional educational experience that prepares them to thrive as professional
creative industry leaders.
Undergraduate Students may apply for one of six programs;

Our admissions process, therefore, looks for students who will not only make the most of their creative educational experience, but will also be beacons in strengthening JACCD Design Institute Africa’s legacy.
As a university, students we admit must be able to handle the fairness of JACCD Design Institute.
Africa’s creative academic theory and practical work. Admissions therefore requires proof of academic ability, with transcripts from school, examination results, along with a set essay before admission. Under Ghana accreditation requirements, students who apply to any university in the country must have a minimum grade of C6 or its equivalent, to be considered eligible.

Six subjects are used to calculate your standard WASSCE score: Integrated Science, Core Math,
Core English and three electives. A minimum grade of C6 in each subject is required to apply.

Six IGCSE (G.C.E. O-Level) passes including Mathematics, English, and Science are required

(Please note that all certificates and results slips other than the WASSCE must be referred to the
National Accreditation Board for verification, evaluation and to determine their eligibility for
admission into JACCD DIA.)
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
CERTIFIED TRANSLATION
EVIDENCE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Transcripts or other supporting documents submitted by international
applicants in a language other than English must be translated and certified as copies of the
original document(s).
International students for who English was not a
language of instruction during high school, must submit evidence of English language
proficiency, including but not limited to the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL),
International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
GENERAL
TRANSFER STUDENTS
All students that transfer into JACCD DIA must begin as first year students. JACCD DIA
currently does not accept transfers into the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of our academic program.
In order to secure admission, transfer candidates must provide official transcripts from each
college or university attended. It is your responsibility to ensure that JACCD DIA has received an official transcript from each institution attended in order to complete your application.
MATURE ENTRANCE
1. Minimum of WASSCE/SSSCE (D7, E8 or E) or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level Certificate
2. NVTI Certificate
3. Holders of NABPTEX Certificate
4. Applicants should have a background in the preferred programme.
5. Should be at least 25 years old.
6. Applicants should attach copies of birth certificates that are at least five years old at the time
of the application.
7. Applicants who do not have credit passes in English and Mathematics at either
WASSCE/SSSCE or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level would be required to register for and pass examinations
in those subjects.

All professional certificates and any other qualification must be referred to the national
accreditation board for the establishment of their e equivalencies to determine their eligibility
for admission.
All SSCE/ WASSCE holders who could not obtain the grades required for direct entry will be
required to take an Access Course that comprise English, integrated science, mathematics and an
interview.

1. Do I need prior experience to enroll in a program at JACCD DIA?
No prior experience is required to enroll in any of our programs. We welcome individuals with a passion for creativity, design, and learning, regardless of previous experience. Our courses are designed to take you from beginner to proficient in your chosen field.
2. If I miss a morning class, can I attend the evening class to catch up?
No you can't. Morning class has 4 hours and evening class has 3 hours. Morning class goes ahead of the evening class resulting in evening class having a plus 1 or 2 months ahead of regular completion date.
3. What is the duration of each program?
All our Diploma in Art programs, including Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Film and TV Production, last 2 years (full-time). This includes both coursework and hands-on training.

4. Does the weekend class include Sundays?
ANSWER: No weekend class yet
5. Is the internship done within the institution or externally?
Our internships typically take place internally and externally, with opportunities for students to work with industry partners, brands, and companies relevant to their field of study. This provides real-world experience and enhances your learning.
6. What certificate will I receive after completing my program?
Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a Diploma in your chosen field, such as Diploma in Fashion Design, Diploma in Graphic Design, or Diploma in Film and TV Production. The diploma is accredited and recognized in the industry.

7. Do I need to bring along the materials listed in the prospectus once enrolled?
ANSWER: No you don't have to. you are advised to purchase them as and when they are needed due to some specifics.

8. Can I learn everything about sewing in six months?
While you will gain a solid foundation in sewing techniques within six months, mastering the craft of sewing and garment making takes time, practice, and continuous learning. The Fashion Design program is designed to build your skills progressively over two years.
9. Is there an age limit for applicants?
No, there is no age limit for applying to any of our programs. Whether you're fresh out of school or looking to change careers, we welcome all students with a passion for design and creativity.

11. What are the admission requirements?
The general admission requirements include:

Application deadlines vary by program. Be sure to check the Admissions page for the specific application deadlines for each program, as they may differ from one intake to another.

14. Can I register after classes have started, and will there be a penalty for late registration?
Late registration is possible in some cases. Please contact the Admissions office for more details on late registration policies and fees.

15. Is there an application fee?
Yes, there is a non-refundable application fee that must be paid when submitting your application. The amount can be found on the Admissions page.

16. What other programs can I apply for aside from Fashion Design?
Apart from Fashion Design, we offer programs in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Film and TV Production, and Jewelry Design. You can explore the full list of our Diploma in Art programs and choose the one that aligns with your interests.​

17. How do I submit proof of my qualifications (e.g., WASSCE certificate)?
You can submit proof of your qualifications by uploading digital copies of your certificates (e.g., WASSCE or equivalent) through our Admissions Portal when completing your application.
18. Can I change my application details after submitting it?
Once you’ve submitted your application, changes cannot be made directly through the portal. However, you can contact the Admissions Office to request any necessary updates or corrections.
19. Where is JACCD DIA located?
Our campus is located at North Legon, behind the Atlantic Mall in Accra. For specific directions and more details on how to get here, please refer to our Contact Us page.
20. Do you have hostels or accommodation options for students?
Currently, we do not provide on-campus accommodation. However, there are nearby housing options and hostels that many of our students choose. Contact the Student Services team for more information on accommodation.
21. Can my admission be denied or withdrawn?
Admission can be denied or withdrawn if an applicant does not meet the necessary admission requirements or if there is a violation of the institution’s policies. If you have concerns about this, contact the Admissions Office for further clarification.
22. What happens if my application for admission is denied?
If your application is denied, you will be notified, and you may be given the option to appeal or reapply in a future intake. Our Admissions Office will guide you through any next steps.
23. How much are the fees, and do I need to pay in full before starting?
The fee structure varies by program. You will need to pay a portion of the tuition fee upfront to secure your place, but full payment is not required before classes start. Payment plans and financial aid options are available—please contact our Finance Office for more details.
